The short version
rvtime.com is independent and reader-supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, which means that if you click one and buy something or sign up for a service, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. That’s how we keep the lights on and the guides free.
Here’s the part that matters most: the commission never decides what we recommend. We suggest the gear, rental platforms, and services we’d point a friend toward, and we say so plainly when something isn’t worth your money.
What an “affiliate link” actually is
An affiliate link is a special tracking link. When you click it and then make a purchase or sign up, the company knows the referral came from us and pays us a small percentage. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid anyway — the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.
Programs we participate in
rvtime.com is a participant in, or earns commissions from, affiliate and partner programs that may include the following:
- RV rental marketplaces: RVshare, Outdoorsy, and RVezy. We may earn a commission when you book a rental through our links.
- Amazon Associates: See the required Amazon statement below.
- Specialty RV retailers and manufacturers: For example, makers and stores that sell RV solar (such as Renogy), water filtration, surge protectors, mattresses, and other gear we review. We generally prefer these specialty programs because they tend to pay fairer commissions than general marketplaces.
- Camping memberships and apps: Such as Harvest Hosts, Thousand Trails, and campground apps like The Dyrt.
- Insurance and financing partners: Where we may be paid a referral or lead fee when you request a quote or apply through a partner.
Amazon Associates disclosure
rvtime.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
Advertising
rvtime.com also displays advertising served by third-party ad networks. Those networks may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visit to this and other sites. You can read more about the data this involves in our Privacy Policy.
Our editorial promise
We only recommend products and services we believe are genuinely useful to RVers. Reviews and comparisons reflect our own research, hands-on testing where we can do it, and the real experiences of the RV community. A company cannot pay to change our rating, and being an affiliate partner does not earn anyone a better review. When we haven’t personally tested something, we tell you that too.
Prices and availability
Prices, commission rates, and product availability change often and are set by the retailer, not by us. Anything you buy is a transaction between you and that retailer or platform, subject to their terms.
